CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A panel of five leaders from the credit union, bank and thrift industries are scheduled to take part in a panel discussion of issues surrounding credit union-to-mutual thrift charter conversions. Participants will include Tom Dorety, CEO of the $5 billion Suncoast Schools FCU, headquartered in Tampa, Florida; Diane Casey-Landry, CEO of America's Community Bankers; Eugene Katz, Senior Vice President with Wachovia Corporation; John Ryan, regional director of the Office of Thrift Supervision in Atlanta and Michael Briggs, an attorney with the Baltimore, Maryland law firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger and Hollander, LLC. The panel will convene on March 31 as part of the Banking Institute sponsored by the University of North Carolina Law School.
