This year marks the 70th anniversary of American Airlines Federal Credit Union, Fort Worth, Texas. AA Credit Union was founded in Chicago's Midway Airport in 1936, just before the inauguration of the first flight of the airline's first Douglas DC-3. In its first year, 642 employees joined, 547 loans were made and assets were approximately $42,266. After 70 years, the CU has 200,000 members and approximately $4 billion in assets. Special promotions and giveaways throughout the year will highlight the 70th anniversary celebration.
