NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Hispanic community here will have another resource to turn to for financial education. The $429 million Merrimack Valley Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a radio show on WCEC 1110 AM every Monday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. The program will delve into a number of subjects including scams targeted at the elderly and the recent increase in foreclosures in the area as well the basics on checking, savings and credit card use. Dalia Diaz, cultural business development representative at Merrimack Valley FCU, produces and hosts the show. Other Spanish-speaking credit union employees will also appear as guests on the show. Listeners will be able to call in with questions, according to the credit union. "Radio is the perfect vehicle to bring that education to a larger audience," Diaz said. Serving more than 45,000 members, Merrimack Valley FCU received approval last November to expand its field of membership to the entire Merrimack Valley community.
