Here is the exact wording of the CO-OP ad spot radio show personality Bill Handel recites during his broadcast: "You know I love credit unions. There is no conflict. The customer and the shareholder are the same person, me! And credit unions actually like to cooperate with each other. Banks can't wait to tell you why the other bank stinks. So, years ago credit unions created their own ATM Network, the CO-OP Network. "Over 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs in the U.S. alone. Twice as many as the largest bank. In my town there are over 100 surcharge-free CO-OP Network ATMs. And it doesn't matter there are 15 different credit unions, by the way, the CO-OP Network is surcharge-free to all of them. I can even make deposits at most of them. I just got back from Europe a little while ago, everywhere I went I was able to use my credit union ATM card. "Go to CO-OP Network.org. Remember the hyphen between the CO and the OP. CO-OP Network.org, see all the ATMs. Pick one close to where you live. Open a checking account in a credit union, it makes so much more sense than in a bank! That's CO-OP Network.org."
