CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – William Lunsford, a former president/CEO of Florida Credit Union in Gainesville, Fla. and an industry veteran who served in management jobs at several Florida and Texas CUs has died. Lunsford, 77, died March 15 in Billings, Montana while visiting with a former associate, Charles Steele, president/CEO of Valley FCU of Montana. Lunsford, who had been in the movement 30 years and specialized in the collections/tech areas, had served at Jax Navy FCU (now VyStar), Tyndall AFB FCU and Amarillo Pantex FCU. While at Tyndall, he had been an assistant to Hank Klein, the former president/CEO of Arkansas FCU, Little Rock. He also was the supervisor to William Rissel, president/CEO of Fort Knox FCU, Radcliff, Ky. Lunsford, a former CU consultant, had maintained a residence in Soddy-Daisy, a Chattanooga suburb. He is survived by his wife, Flossy.
