MIAMI – Dade County FCU, $400 million in assets and more than 79,000 members, has merged with the $6 million, 1,500-member Miami Beach FCU. Formed as the credit union exclusively for county employees in 1939, DCFCU converted to a community charter in 2003, which opened membership up to anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in Miami-Dade. The credit union said the merger will help it service the entire metropolitan Miami-Dade area.
