MADISON, Wis. – CUNA has given the nod to a utility-based managed security solution from Perimeter Internetworking that the company says is a replacement for hosted, network-based firewalls and intrusion detection monitoring systems. Called Gateway 4.0, the "security in the clouds" solution provides more than 60 pre-integrated services – including intrusion and malicious code defense, secure e-mail, automated compliance and network services – that can be individually selected and "turned on," and eliminates the need for future capital expenditures and integration costs, says Brad Miller, CEO of Connecticut-based Perimeter Internetworking (www.perimeterusa.com). "They have once again shown their forward thinking by endorsing a comprehensive, adaptive, security in the cloud approach to keeping their members protected against future security threats and covered for compliance regulations," Miller says of CUNA. The strategic alliance with Perimeter Internetworking is the second announced by CUNA in recent days. The other was with Trace Security, a Louisiana-based provider of security compliance assessment services.
