Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, has brokenground for the relocation of its Brooks Branch. The new branch willbe easily accessible to members living in South San Antonio andfeatures a full-service lobby, six drive-thru teller lanes, and twodrive-up ATMs. The current location will remain open until the newlocation opens in late August 2006. CME Federal Credit Union,Columbus, Ohio, recently celebrated the opening of its new Hillardlocation. This branch, the CU's forth, features a retail conceptthat has not been seen in the Columbus market. Replacing thetraditional teller line are transaction stations and the office'sinterior looks more like a living room than a financialinstitution. There are four drive-thru lanes, one featuring animage-enabled depository ATM, making it possible to do every typeof transaction from the vehicle. The CU's innovative design is partof a growing trend to make retail branches more appealing tomembers.
