MADISON, Wis. – Michael Daubs will officially retire later this month after an impressive 32-year run at CUNA Mutual Group including serving as a senior vice president there and as chief investment officer for MEMBERS Capital Advisors. "Mike laid the groundwork for what we're doing now," said David Marks, his successor. "He said we're taking it to a new level. He's been very supportive." Daubs joined Lutheran Mutual Life -now CUNA Mutual Life Insurance Co. -in 1973 and was named vice president in 1978, then senior vice president of investments in 1983. He became chief investment officer and senior vice president of CUNA Mutual Group in February 1989. CUNA Mutual Life Insurance Co., Waverly, Iowa, is a permanent affiliate of CUNA Mutual Group. In a Credit Union Times profile that ran last year, Daubs said he looks forward to more leisure time after retiring, including traveling with his wife Patti of 42 years to several countries, spending more time with his grandchildren, taking guitar and piano lessons, and possibly going back to school to earn a doctorate in psychology.
