RANCHO CUCOMONGA, Calif. – It is once again time for the Lexus Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race to benefit the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation, which promotes credit union education and financial literacy. The annual 125-mile competition begins at noon on Friday, April 28 and of the over 500 boats participating, only one is staffed by an all credit union crew. Led by "skipper", Honda FCU CEO and RMJ Foundation Board member Jim Updike, the "CU crew" includes Chris Gunnare, Matt Flynn, and Brian Scott from The Members Group; Todd Lane and Tim Sidley from WesCorp; and Bill Enslin from Creditor's Insurance. The dedicated crew is covering racing expenses out-of-pocket so that 100% of the funds raised will go toward the RMJ Foundation. Credit unions interested in cheering on the team and making a pledge should visit www.rmjfoundation.org/updike_pledge.cfm.
