Paul Gentile's Feb. 22, 2006 article, "Everyone Knows Where Adams Stands on Bank Conversions", could leave the impression that Dave is running a one-man campaign against credit union-to-bank conversions. In fact, he is simply carrying out the policy on conversions adopted a year ago by the Michigan Credit Union League Board of Directors. The MCUL Board, as recently as Feb.14, reaffirmed by consensus that conversion policy and Dave Adams' actions in carrying out that policy. We are proud of Dave's willingness to be our point man on this issue. This despite the attacks on him from those who, whatever their motives, don't believe that a credit union trade association should act to protect the credit union charter.
