SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Consumers and small business owners in the North Bay area here are being encouraged to commit to a healthy financial outlook in 2006 with a “Healthy Start” checking account. The $1.3 billion Redwood Credit Union said for a limited time, when members or small business owners open a new checking account with direct deposit or bill pay, it will deposit $25 into the account. The member will also be eligible for a random drawing to win a spa getaway valued at $2,500. “Redwood Credit Union is committed to supporting the financial well-being of our members, and our communities,” said Brett Martinez, RCU president/CEO “With the start of a new year, there has never been a better time for consumers and small business owners to take advantage of our new `Healthy Start’ Checking account.” The CU has an extensive Business Plus Financial Services program.
