Sunmark Federal Credit Union, Schenectady, N.Y., has been recognized as one of the Great Places to Work in the Capital Region by The Business Review. Sunmark was one of more than 130 companies to enter, making the list of finalists on the strength of its employee evaluations. The award recognizes the company's achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of benefits, working conditions and company culture. Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., has been presented with the 2005 Workforce Builders Advisory Board Award by The Long Island Works Coalition. The credit union was singled out for its dedication and active participation in various School-Business Advisory Boards in Suffolk County to help in the development of Long Island's future workforce. The Long Island Works Coalition (LI Works) was established in 1999 as a regional initiative to promote a strong economy and workforce through business/education collaborations. Its programs target businesses, academia, parents and students from kindergarten through college.
