BATTLE CREEK, Mich.-Omni Family Credit Union is celebrating the New Year with a merger. Omni Family will merge with Kastco Credit Union in Kalamazoo, according to Battle Creek's The Enquirer. The article quoted Omni Family's CEO Ted Parsons as saying, "We feel we're providing a good service to people and.it's a natural progression for us to grow, giving more people the opportunity to have the credit union experience." The merger will provide the credit union with increased resources to potentially allow for new services like electronic bill pay and e-statements. Following the combination Omni Family will have $197 million in assets and 35,000 members. The new institution will keep the Omni Family name and Parsons will run it. Two board members from Kastco will join the Omni Family Board of Directors. The merger will be effective Jan. 31.
