BROOKFIELD, Wis. – Core banking software provider ITI, a unit ofFiserv, announced that it has partnered with VASCO Data Security tooffer that company's Digipass multi-factor authentication products.Digipass is a line of what VASCO calls one-time password, or OTP,token devices. Each Digipass device is programmed with a uniquealgorithm that generates a different one-time password every 36seconds. Once a user is ready to access home banking, he or sheactivates the Digipass device to obtain the password. Since thepassword expires in 36 seconds, this security system is completelyimmune to so-called phishing attacks. Many Digipass devices aresmall enough to carry on a keychain.
