ST. LOUIS – To get a feel for what area businesses have to offer, Meridian Credit Union’s two-year old networking group has become an outlet for the locals here. The Business Networking Coffee Club, which meets every second Tuesday of the month at the $119 million credit union, provides a forum for business owners to share information on their products and services and network with their peers, according to Erin Zorzi, a branch manager at Meridian. During the hour-long meeting, a business owner can give a presentation on a range of topics. Past subjects have included time and stress management, tips on creating an effective Web site and building confidence, Zorzi said. Following the presentation is the business announcement period and then a 60-second infomercial where members share a brief description on a specific service or product they have to offer. The networking group, which is free, even takes field trips. This month, they will travel to a local post office to get a feel for how mail is processed particularly as it relates to business services.
