HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Redstone Federal Credit Union has presented checks totaling more than $118,000 to the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and The Humane Society of the United States for its Hurricane Katrina disaster relief funds. The credit union donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross, $25,000 to The Salvation Army, and $1,000 to The Humane Society of the United States. An additional check for $62,777.07 was presented to the American Red Cross and $4,980 to The Salvation Army – representing money donated by Redstone members, volunteers, the community, and employees. “Over the years whenever there has been a need, we’ve seen our members and the community as a whole generously reach into their pockets and give from their hearts,” said Redstone FCU President Gerald Toland. “That’s what they’ve done again for the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and The Humane Society of the United States. This is our way to make a difference, especially now.during the season of giving.”
