BATON ROUGE, La. -Neighbors Federal Credit Union has donated $5,000 to the American Red Cross Louisiana Capital Area Chapter. In addition, Neighbors employees and members contributed an additional $3,262.90 along with food, clothing, and personal items collected and distributed to shelters throughout the Baton Rouge Area. "We can only hope that our donation helps the Red Cross to bring relief to the thousands affected by the recent hurricanes," said Neighbors FCU President/CEO Norman Thompson. Neighbors aided the relief effort in other ways including opening its doors to evacuated members. "We calmed fears, cashed checks, found phone numbers, and gave directions. We donated time and office space to fellow credit unions, and worked to help them get back up and running," said Thompson.
