Pacific Service Credit Union, Walnut Creek, Calif., has donated $2,500 to the Sequoia Council of the Boy Scouts of America for a unique program that targets underserved youth. The Scoutreach Program collaborates with Fresno schools and community organizations to offer the Boy Scout program in low-income urban and rural areas with little exposure to Scouting. Sierra Schools Credit Union, Reno, Nev., has participated in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and helped to raise more than $2,000. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. The walk helped to raise money, as well as emphasized the importance of walking and exercise to help prevent heart disease. SSCU branch fundraisers were held, with awards and prizes going to the team members that were able to raise the most.
