SALT LAKE CITY – America First Credit Union (AFCU) and local television station KTVX Channel 4 have awarded $89,035 to the American Red Cross to support hurricane victims throughout the southeastern states. America First Credit Union and Channel 4 started collecting donations from the time Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana. People living throughout Utah donated funds that were deposited into an AFCU account where the money was held until the presentation on Monday. "We are honored to have the ability to collect this generous offering for those who are still suffering from these terrible circumstances," said AFCU Vice President John Lund. "It is rewarding to us at America First to take part in donating this gift to a nationally respected organization that is determined to help the outcome of those who have been misplaced because of this tragedy."
