LOWELL, Mass. – Immediately after Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast, Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union joined forces with the American Red Cross to raise money in support of Katrina's victims. During the weeks following the storm, JDCU placed donation containers in all of their branch lobbies and administrative locations, encouraging employees and members alike to contribute. The JDCU community pulled together and was able to raise over $5,000 for the American Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund. "When a disaster of this magnitude occurs, it's wonderful to see our community pull together in support of those less fortunate than us," said JDCU President/CEO Paul R. Mayotte. "Our members and employees recognized these victims needed their help and stepped up to the plate when asked. Through our contribution, I'm positive we were able to relieve some anguish and sadness that accompanies this type of life changing event."
