TUKWILA, Wash. – BECU is deploying a Web-based payroll and workforce management solution called UltiPro from Ultimate Software of Weston, Fla., as the big CU continues its upgrading of internal IT processes. The $5.6 billion CU is replacing its current 16-bit UNIX enterprise resource package to escape significant annual maintenance fees, gain functionality and ease integration with BECU's other Microsoft SQL Server-based systems, the company says. Greg Stannard, HRIS manager at BECU (www.becu.org), says the credit union plans to drop several other third-party solutions and save $250,000 in the next three years using the UltiPro workforce management tools. "Most importantly, with an improved solution in place, we will become more of a resource for our internal customers," Stannard says. Ultimate Software (www.ultimatesoftware.com) provides Web-based payroll and workforce management solutions to a variety of organizations, including the Florida Marlins and New York Yankees baseball teams, Nintendo, Elizabeth Arden and SkyWest Airlines.
