WASHINGTON – The National Association of Community Credit Unions (NACCU) has released a new white paper focusing on community credit union name changes. "Community chartered credit unions face many challenges, one of the foremost being establishing an identity within their field of membership," said NACCU Executive Director Marc Selvitelli. "NACCU commissioned this paper to help our members and all community chartered credit unions answer the question of whether a name change is beneficial to the credit union." NACCU tapped Weber Marketing Group President Mark Weber to author the paper due to his extensive expertise in corporate naming and experience working with community credit unions changing their corporate names. The paper provides an in-depth analysis of both the process and considerations associated with a change in corporate identity. It focuses on four key areas: an overview of corporate naming, the name change decision, choosing the right name, and implementing a new name. The white paper is available on NACCU's Web site, www.naccu.coop.
