WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -Pacific Service Credit Union is poised to roll out a bonus rebate program in 2006. Members will receive a 5% rebate on interest earned on all existing funds on deposit and all new money deposited into a six-month certificate or liquid deposits between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31, 2006, according to the $1 billion credit union. Members depositing new funds into a certificate of deposit of one year or longer during the same time period will receive a bonus rebate of 10% on interest earned. "One of the benefits of belonging to our credit union is that profits go back to our owners – our 70,000 members," said Tom Smigielski, president of Pacific Service CU. "In 2006, a member earning $500 in interest on deposits with us will also receive a bonus rebate of either $50 for new funds or $25 for existing funds." Since 1996, the credit union has paid members more than $12 million in bonuses, Smigielski said.
