ALEXANDRIA, Va.-A former White House staffer, who previously also served in George W. Bush's administration when he was governor of Texas, has joined NCUA's Office of External Affairs. In announcing the hiring, NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson commented, "Justin Grove is an excellent addition to our external affairs team. Justin will be an asset in the success of the agency." Grove will serve as associate director of external affairs. NCUA Special Assistant to the Chairman and Director of External Affairs Nicholas Owens said Grove will be an "integral participant in our efforts to enhance the agency's communications and outreach initiatives." He will assist in directing the agency's external affairs and strategic public affairs initiatives. Prior to joining NCUA, Grove served in various positions at the White House from 2001 through 2005, most recently as associate director of presidential correspondence. In this post, he coordinated correspondence to the President and the White House staff, interfaced with congressional offices and the public, as well as ensured rapid and accurate communication of incoming public information to the White House staff.
