MADISON, Wis. – The American Council on Education's (ACE) College Recommendation Service has recently recommended that three of CUNA's educational programs be eligible for college credit. Coursework from the following CUNA programs was deemed comparable to college level courses and may be used as transfer credit at many colleges and universities: Certified Executive Program, Regulatory Training and Certification Level 2, and Business Lending Institutes Fundamentals and Credit Analysis. “CUNA has always worked hard to ensure that these courses provide an invaluable educational experience designed specifically to meet the needs of busy credit union professionals,” said Association Services Senior Vice President Jill Tomalin. “The accreditation from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE gives us validation that our coursework is at the level we continuously strive for and gives added value to those who take our classes.” Through the ACE College Credit Recommendation Service, college and university faculty evaluate courses offered by business and industry, labor unions, associations, and government agencies and recommend college credit as appropriate. Evaluation results are published in the National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs, which is distributed annually to college registrars and admissions officers throughout the United States.
