Point Loma Credit Union, San Diego, Calif., has awarded $2,500 college scholarships to three deserving local students for the eighth consecutive year. This year's scholarships were presented to Nathan Beck, David Daniels, and Janet Hwu. As PLCU members, these students were awarded scholarships based upon written essays, academic achievements, and extracurricular activities. All three recipients will be eligible to receive an additional $1,000 per year for their sophomore, junior, and senior years-providing each maintains a full course load and a 2.75 GPA. Colorado Credit Union League, Arvada, Colo., Colorado CUL Foundation has selected Ross Boden the 2005 winner of the $5,000 Brayman-Beach Scholarship. Named for two long time supporters of the credit union movement, Susan J. Brayman, and Carroll D. Beach, the $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to undergraduate students who are credit union members interested in pursuing a degree in business. Service One Credit Union, Bowling Green, Ky., has awarded a $500 annual scholarship to Jessica Dilsaver. Dilsaver is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Music. Two $250 scholarships were awarded to Pamelia Rena Anderson and Beth Mayer Rountree. In addition a $165 scholarship was awarded to Carmen Harrison. Partnering with the Western Kentucky University Foundation, the Service One CU Endowed Scholarship was established to provide credit union members an opportunity to receive financial assistance in furthering their education.
