HARRISBURG, Pa. – Pennsylvania Banking Secretary Bill Schenck announced today that 10 banks are partnering with the Department of Banking as part of a new examiner training program designed to enhance the training of its financial institution examiners. The Examiner Internship program places Department of Banking examiner trainees in participating banks for six weeks to learn about the industry. Developed under the direction of Gov. Ed Rendell, the program is intended for examiner trainees who lack prior banking experience. Five trainees are currently enrolled in the program. The 10 banks include: Ameriserv Financial Bank; Parkvale Savings Bank; Enterprise Bank; Sewickley Savings Bank; Community Bank and Trust Company; Orrstown Bank; Jonestown Bank and Trust Company; First Savings Bank of Perkasie; Leesport Bank; and CommunityBanks.
