WAUKEGAN, Ill. – Consumers Cooperative Credit Union and North Shore Gas Credit Union have announced merger plans effective January 1, 2006. "The focus of North Shore Gas Credit Union has always been to provide superior service to our members," said NSGCU Board Chairman Steve Carlson. "Continuing that service was a top priority as we explored various options for our future. That was one of the reasons we chose to merge with CCCU." The move is designed to provide increased access to products and services including free Bill Pay, expanded hours, multiple credit card programs and more options and better rates. The merged credit union will have total assets of over $400 million and will serve some 50,000 members.
