SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Inspired to help Hurricane Katrina survivors, Spartanburg Regional Federal Credit Union (SRFCU) has launched a "Beads for New Orleans" campaign. Members donate $2 for each strand of Mardi Gras beads they purchase from credit union employees, and SRFCU will match 50% of contributions. So far a total of $4,100 has been raised. "Our members epitomize the spirit of generosity and hospitality that thrives in our community," said SRFCU CEO Pat West. "It is an honor for me to work for such members." All funds raised during "Beads for New Orleans" will be donated to the American Red Cross and earmarked for distribution to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
