METAIRIE, La. – Since putting out the word a few weeks ago that it was seeking deposits from credit unions throughout the country to help build capital in order to meet expected demand when Katrina-ravaged Louisiana CUs get back on their feet, Louisiana Corporate says it is making progress. CEO David Savoie reported last week that so far $11.7 million has been deposited from new depositors. The breakdown is as follows: *Arizona FCU, Phoenix$10 million *Electrus FCU, Brooklyn Center, Minn. $500,000 *CNBS, LLC, Overland Park, Kan. $1 million *Tyndall FCU, Panama City, Fla. $99,000 *Money One FCU, Largo, Md. $100,000 Louisiana Corporate is still operating out of its back-up facility at U.S. Central’s headquarters.
