BEAVERTON, Ore. – First Tech Credit Union just keeps on giving to the Hurricane Katrina Relief effort. Not only have staffers and members donated over $255,000 to the American Red Cross but the credit union has teamed up with the Oregon Food Bank and local radio station KINK-FM to sponsor a Blues for Katrina Festival. "We share the nation's sadness at the devastation brought by Hurricane Katrina. First Tech members have demonstrated their generosity and sense of community through their donations," said First Tech CU President/CEO Tom Sargent. "Supporting the Blues for Katrina event was just another great way to contribute to the cause." Headliners for the one-day blues festival included Linda Hornbuckle, Curtis Salgado, and Patrick Lamb. The "jam session" benefits America's Second Harvest, a nationwide food bank network that has been instrumental in providing food and water to those that need it most.
