PHOENIX – Wanting to help kids get the healthcare they need, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union has donated $10,000 to Banner Health's School-Based Clinic Program. Designed to ensure students' well-being and academic success, Banner Health's program provides healthcare to uninsured elementary school students. The credit union grant will help ensure several thousand uninsured children per year get medical attention right in the nurse's office at their elementary schools. According to the State Health Access Data Assistance Center and Urban Institute the average percentage of uninsured children in Arizona is some 14.7%.
