WEST PALM BEACH,Fla. – The Card is the second novel published by Credit Union Times' Overseas Correspondent Donna-Lane Nelson. The book was released by her publisher Five Star on October 3rd and is available on Amazon.com. The novel is the story of two women's friendship from college through their forties. Jane wants to be happily married. Diana wants to run her father's newspaper. They both learn getting what you want isn't always good. Their friendship supports them through an unfaithful husband, a parent that isn't what they thought, building a business, and the 1968 Paris riots. Each year they exchange the same Christmas card year after year with one or the other adding a single line summing up her life for that year: `I'm out of jail,' `I'm going to cross the Sahara,' `I'm tired of one-way streets, `I'm having a baby,' etc. Nelson's first novel, Chickpea Lover: Not a Cookbook, was published in hard cover and paper back in the U.S. and was also published in Russian and German.
