TAMPA, Fla. – Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union is making sure that its donations pack double the economic punch. Not only has Suncoast Schools FCU already made a $100,000 contribution split equally between the NCUF and the American Red Cross to help Hurricane Katrina survivors, but it has also recently launched a matching program. The credit union will match all donations made through September 30, 2005. "All of us have watched, heard, or read about the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. It is impossible for us to fully appreciate the total destruction and disruption of lives that this event has caused. Through these efforts, and others, we can all support this important humanitarian effort," said Suncoast Schools FCU President/CEO Tom Dorety. In addition to raising funds, Suncoast Schools FCU is working closely with the Florida Credit Union League, CUNA, NCUA, and the NCUF to provide immediate operational assistance to the Gulf Coast region's impacted credit unions.
