SAN DIEGO – The $1.5 billion North Island Credit Union has kicked in $17,000 to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The credit union reported that its employees and members have contributed $12,000 in the last three days and sent the money to the Red Cross. The credit union has made an additional $5000 donation to the National Credit Union Foundation. The credit union will continue to collect donations at its 13 branches, the CU said.
