As a volunteer, I have followed the discussion of the role of volunteers on trade association boards. As a member of NAFCU, I noted Mr. Robert Scott's candidacy for the board of NAFCU and discussed (by e-mail) the opportunities available to volunteers with various trade associations. In fact, we voted for Mr. Scott for the NAFCU Board. As I told Mr. Scott, the primary impediment for volunteers from Pentagon Federal to being on boards of trade associations is the decision of the board of Pentagon Federal to not be affiliated with the Virginia Credit Union League, the local chapter of the Virginia Credit Union League or CUNA. As far as I know, volunteers are welcome to run for the boards of all three of these organizations. Daniel Morrisey Treasurer Queen of Peace Arlington FCU Arlington, Va.
