WASHINGTON – President Bush announced his intention to nominate Orlando Cabrera, Florida Housing’s Executive Director, to the position of Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Public and Indian Housing. Cabrera has been executive director of Florida Housing since 2003, and he currently serves on the board of the National Council of State Housing Agencies and the Southeast Regional and North Florida Fannie Mae Partnership Advisory Board. Before joining Florida Housing, he was a partner with Holland & Knight LLP where he practiced real estate, land use and corporate transactional law in the firm’s Miami office. He was also chairman of the City of Miami’s Community Development and Housing Committee.
