WASHINGTON-The Department of Housing and Urban Development is offering free two-day training seminars for grant writing. HUD suggests that faith-based and community organizations learn "The Art and Science of Grant Writing" from those who know it best. The programs show organizations how to be more competitive with federal grant applications, which will also help with applying for funds from corporate and foundation sources. The two-day training sessions have aided hundreds of organizations in obtaining more than $48 million in funding, according to HUD. See HUD's Web site (http://www.hud.gov/offices/fbci/calendar/calendar.cfm) for a calendar of these events.
