A recent Hewitt Associates survey entitled HR Outsourcing Trends & Insights finds that by 2008 experts anticipate that human resources outsourcing will significantly increase, particularly in the areas of leave management, learning/development; payroll, recruiting, health and welfare, defined plans and global mobility. In addition, one-fifth of companies realized unexpected benefits from outsourcing ranging from a substantial increase in process efficiency in non-HR areas and higher levels of employee savings to greater discipline in demand prioritization, cost control and planning. The most common lesson organizations learned in incorporating outsourced HR functions was to be diligent during the decision-making and contract negotiation process. Respondents also indicated they would look at their needs and the vendor's capabilities to avoid outgrowing their selected partner. Here is a look at how the HR landscape may change in three years:
