PORTLAND, Ore – Corillian Corp. has named long-time board of directors member Jay Whipple III as its new chairman of the board. Whipple has been on the Internet banking vendor's board since 1997, during which time he also has been chairman of software services firm Osprey Partners LLP and a money-management company. Whipple previously had been executive vice president and vice chairman of CheckFree Corp. Alex Hart, president and CEO of Corillian, says, "We look forward to working more closely with Jay in this new role as we look for strategic ways to continue growing our business." The Portland-based company, a provider of online banking and bill pay services to large credit unions, has recently heavily expanded into anti-fraud solutions. It also has just purchased qbt Systems, a provider of integration solutions to credit unions, core processors and electronic funds transfer companies that itself had recently bought the MemberBridge line of online banking products for credit unions of all sizes.
