ARVADA, Colo. – The Colorado Credit Union League Foundation has created the position of executive director – saying the new spot "is essential to advance the credit union movement in Colorado" – and named Eleni Sarris to the job. Sarris started in her position on Aug. 16, and comes to it with extensive experience in non-profit management, fundraising, grant writing, governmental relations and public relations. Immediately prior to joining the League, she was the sole proprietor of a consulting firm for non-profit and for-profit organizations. She's also worked as Director of Development with Opera Colorado; Executive Director of the Justice Information Center; and Staff Assistant to former Colorado U.S. Senator Tim Wirth. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Mount Vernon College, Washington, D.C., Sarris has served on several associations and boards including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Association of Family and Children's Agencies Inc., Gov. Roy Romer's Task Force on the Homeless, and the Asian Roundtable.
