CINCINNATI - Design/build firm DEI Incorporated has picked up an award for "Commercial Design Under 3,500 Square Feet" in Cincinnati Magazine's 3rd Annual Interior Design Competition. Thirty-one interior design projects received top honors. Cincinnati Magazine's interior design competition honors outstanding and innovative residential and commercial interior design in Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky. Competition winners will be featured in the "Home & Garden" section of Cincinnati Magazine's November 2005 issue. The DEI design team was recognized for its combined efforts to create the design for the ORNL Federal Credit Union in Oakridge, Tennessee. Ceilings, walls and corners are utilized to include the credit union's full range of services. Neon, acrylic signage, crop-circle floor patterns, brilliant colors, and scientific elements give the credit union both a warm and high-tech appearance. Judges described the design as "well-planned and executed" and applauded the "friendly, warm, fun graphics."
