DALLAS – The credit unions that process their credit card services with TNB Card Services have been able to move their debit processing to First Data’s STAR Network since May 31, when the credit union-owned bank announced the platform’s availability. Now the card processing firm has announced the first five of its credit union clients have successfully migrated to the new platform. The five include the $77 million Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union in Northfield, New Jersey; the $377 million IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas; the $14 million 1st University Credit Union in Waco, Texas; the $63 million BP Federal Credit Union in Houston, Texas; and the $12 million Texas Industries Employees Credit Union in Midlothian, Texas. Collectively the credit unions brought 22,000 cards to the Star Network in the conversion. The STAR Network offers PIN-secured debit acceptance at 1.6 million ATM and retail locations coast-to-coast, including nearly three-fourths of all the ATM terminals in the U.S, TNB said. TNB has over 100 credit unions that already use the firm for debit processing and over 400 that use the processor for their credit card transactions. TNB Card Services is the card processing arm for credit union-owned Town North Bank which is headquartered in Dallas. “These five credit unions are only the first to take advantage of our STAR Network platform and the world-class EFT program behind it,” said Glen Lee, first senior vice president of TNB Card Services. “We’re seeing tremendous interest in the STAR Network platform through TNB from credit union clients throughout the country.”
