COLUMBIA, Md. - The Maryland Credit Union League held a specialmembership meeting July 28 to give affiliated credit unions and"any member of the CU's official family" including CEO, boardmember and management staff the opportunity to vote on the League'sproposed merger with the D.C. Credit Union League. Ballots werealso mailed to affiliated credit unions to vote on changes to theLeague's bylaws to allow the merger. Those ballots are due backAug. 1. D.C. League affiliated CUs were mailed ballots to vote onthe merger, and those also have to be returned by Aug. 1. If thememberships of both the Maryland and D.C. leagues approve themerger, the new combined organization will be called the Marylandand District of Columbia Credit Union Association and be based inColumbia. The D.C. League will move from its current office inAlexandria, Va.
