Searching for credit union items on eBay is easy, even for novices of the online auction service. The Web address is www.ebay.com, and features a search engine on the main page. General items can be found by searching under "credit union", and items specific to a particular credit union can be found by searching under the credit union's name. Many items for sale are from credit unions that no longer exist or have changed names. In order to search for historical items, be sure to use a general name the credit union has kept over the years, or do multiple searches. EBay even offers a service that allows users to maintain ongoing searches for items containing a specific description. The dot-commer will even send an email alert when such items are put up for auction. In order to receive this service, users must set up an eBay account, which is free. Once the account is established, click on the "My eBay" link at the top of every page. On the left side of the page, there is a category entitled "All Favorites." Click on "Searches", and follow the instructions provided online.
