Thank you to Mike Welch for his straightforward and “tell it like it is” column in the July 13 issue. And as Jim Blaine said in the cover article related to the Texas conversion mess: “If all this was really about just how a piece of paper was folded, then I would be with him (Congressman Patrick McHenry). McHenry, who “believes NCUA is too reliant on CU funding to properly regulate CU-to-bank conversions”, misses the point because as Blaine said this is not about a fold, “but nobody has bothered to tell him that yet.” Perhaps we all need some more light-and less heat-shed on the matter!
