LAS VEGAS – To help build a presence in the growing Hispanic community here, Nevada Federal Credit Union has named Rosi Chicas community outreach manager. The new position was created specifically so that Nevada Federal can increase membership awareness and offer financial education assistance to Hispanic and underserved communities. With the credit union for six years, Chicas is actively involved in developing relationships with charitable associations, organizations, and companies. She is also responsible for coordinating and implementing workshops and training seminars in both Spanish and English. In addition, she assists Nevada Federal community partners with fundraisers, events, and volunteer work and has been a member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce since 2001. "I delight in developing something that will be of help to others and in being able to share my knowledge of managing money and in educating those who have poor money handling experience," said Chicas. "A strong Community Outreach Program is one that is active in the community, grows through the participation of its representative company employees, and brings pride to all its participants; those who give as well as those who receive."
