Florida Credit Union Expands Beyond Hospital Base

LAKELAND, Fla. - An NCUA charter change approval has allowedLakeland Medical Employees FCU to expand to the surroundingcommunity. The $21 million credit union also has a new name,Regional Community FCU. Its core membership consists of employeesof Lakeland Regional Medical Center here. The new charter opens upmembership to those who work, live, worship or attend school inPolk County here. Originally chartered in 1958 as Morrell MemorialHospital FCU, the CU currently serves more than 5,000 members.
