PINE BROOK, N.J. – Soldiers of Task Force 1-77 stationed in Balad, Iraq have sent a statement of appreciation to CU National Mortgage for the company's recent donation of care packages and its overall support of U.S. soldiers serving in the Middle East. Over the last few months, CU National Mortgage has sent 10 large care packages to the soldiers, and it plans on sending five more before the end of the year. The packages include a variety of useful personal items including playing cards, sunscreen, homemade cookies, disposable cameras and magazines. In their statement, Commander Sergeant Major John W. Fortune said, "CU National's support of our soldiers is vital to the morale and welfare of those currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom II. The generosity of the people of CU National helps us remember the country and people we defend every day, which inspires pride within our unit."
